Man Shot At Point-Blank Range w/.308 Rifle

:eek_ma::eek_ma::eek_ma:

Personally, I would never let a guy in extremely tight shorts shoot me!!

At least this illustrates that the notion of "stopping power" is largely meaningless for small arms -- though simple physics is convincing enough and doesn't incur risk of life.

I think they should try that with a 50BMG and then post it back up the clip.

I love the .45 "stopping power" guys...

I'll keep my "wimpy" 9mm and 7.62x39 weapons, thanks.

Are the steel plates attached to a 200lb mass?

IDIOTS. The anti gun people would love this. I can see a commercial on TV asking "Do you trust these people with firearms. This is why we need common sense regulation."

Very silly way to demonstrate armour, and reinforces several stereotypes. Shows poorly thought out weapon handling, I don't care how good you are, accidents can happen. The armour is effective I'll give them that, but dragonskin is probably way better.

I do note that no-one flew back 5 metres when shot as per Hollywood requirements.

YouTube - Future weapons: Dragon Skin (amazing body armour!)

Damn I want some of that armor! Pretty amazing stuff there...somehow I doubt it's available as a civilian. Or if it is there's a huge tax. Oh well..that stuff looks pretty awesome tho.

As to the OP: LOL What a bunch of damn idiots.

Supposedly Dragon Skin fudged some of their numbers and the military is pissed about it. I don't know if they are pulling the contract or what.

Sorry FP, I know both gents and this is a short excerpt from a video called Deadly Weapons done in the late 80s.
I used to run this 90 minute tape most days in the gun shop to help noobs.

Second Chance makes the vests, another scene in the flick is Richard Davis shooting himself with a .44 Remington Magnum from of course a Smith.

Richard became a millionare selling Second Chance to LEOs worldwide by demonstrating his products on himself and a few close friends.

Well, Okay monte. I stand corrected.
I had always been under the impression that a man could not carry enough armor to protect himself from a determined rifleman.
May I assume that the knees, neck and ocular regions remain as exposed targets of opportunity?

Don't forget the femoral artery! Any man shot near the crotch is going down and probably into shock...if that artery is nicked they could bleed out in less than a minute or two. Even if you miss in the hip bone area...you're probably going to hit the femur or the hip joint...and their movement will be severely impaired. Just for entertainment purposes only...or against terrorists.

*Plus if they are not just a gang of thugs...they will probably try to extract their fallen friend...taking more of them out of the action. Vive la rsistance!
